What is the Old Image Converter?
Before JPEG and PNG became universal, every platform had its own picture format: PCX from PC Paintbrush, PICT on the Mac, IFF/ILBM on the Amiga, Sun Raster and SGI on Unix workstations, TGA in early 3D and video work, Kodak Photo CD and FlashPix for scanned photos. Add layered editor files such as GIMP XCF and Photoshop PSD, PostScript/EPS artwork and DjVu scanned books, and you have a shelf of pictures that modern photo apps refuse to open. This converter reads them with Pillow, ImageMagick and Ghostscript and writes PNG, JPG, WebP, TIFF or PDF, flattening layers and rasterising vectors where necessary.

Which legacy image formats can I convert?

Microsoft Document Imaging (.mdi) is recognised by the identifier but cannot be converted.
Are layers preserved?
No. Layered files are flattened into a single image, exactly as they looked in the editor. Use PNG or WebP if you need to keep transparency.
What resolution do EPS and DjVu files come out at?
EPS and PostScript are rasterised at 200 DPI when converting to PNG or JPG; converting to PDF keeps them as vectors. DjVu pages are transferred at their native scan resolution.
Are my images kept on your servers?
No. Files are used only for the conversion you requested and are deleted automatically within three hours.
