Frequently Asked Questions

How do I merge multiple audio files together?

Simply upload or drag multiple audio files into the tool, arrange them in your desired order by dragging, select your preferred output format (MP3, WAV, AAC, etc.), and click 'Merge & Download'. The tool will combine all files in sequence and download the merged audio file.

What audio formats are supported for merging?

The audio merger supports all common formats including MP3, WAV, AAC, FLAC, OGG, and M4A. You can mix different input formats and choose any supported format for the output merged file. The tool handles format conversion automatically.

Will merging audio files reduce quality?

The merger preserves audio quality based on your output format selection. If you choose a lossless format like FLAC or WAV, quality is fully maintained. For compressed formats like MP3, the quality matches your selected bitrate. The tool does not apply additional compression beyond the output format.

Can I change the order of files before merging?

Yes! The tool features a drag-and-drop interface that lets you easily reorder files. Simply click and drag any file to a new position in the list. Files will be merged in the exact order shown in the list from top to bottom.

Is there a limit to how many audio files I can merge?

There is no strict limit on the number of files you can merge. However, very large numbers of files or very large total file sizes may take longer to process and require more browser memory. For best performance, we recommend keeping the total size under 500MB.

Does the tool support crossfade between files?

Currently, the tool merges files by concatenating them sequentially without crossfade effects. Files are joined end-to-end in the order you specify. If you need crossfade effects, consider using our Audio Fade tool on individual files before merging.

Can I merge files of different formats and sample rates?

Yes! The tool automatically handles files with different formats, sample rates, and bit depths. All files are normalized to a common format during the merge process, then output in your selected format. This ensures compatibility regardless of input file specifications.

How do I download my merged audio file?

After clicking 'Merge & Download', the tool processes your files and automatically downloads the merged result to your device. The filename will be 'merged_audio' with your chosen output format extension. All processing happens in your browser, so your files remain private and secure.
